Multiple cropping is the observe of growing of over one sort of crop on identical field during a single year  or growing differing types of crops at the same time or in sequence in a year on the same piece of land.

differing types of multiple cropping with examples are mentioned below.

1) successive cropping – Growing of 1 crop when the harvest of another crop. E.g = Rice - Wheat - maize

2) Intercropping: planting 2 or a lot of crops on the same field at the same time whereas maintaining an explicit geometric sequence. E.g = 1:2 arrangement for maize and soyabean

3) Mixed cropping : growing of 2 or over two crops at the same time on identical field within which  no specific geometric sequence is maintained. Here , crop seeds are mixed and broadcasted. E.g = Maixe + soyabean.

4) relay cropping : owing successive crop before the previous crop' harvest or when the previous crop' blossoming. E.g = Rice\lentil
